As the recent weather has seen large temperature differences between day and night, the demand for heating appliances has surged. Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 12th that sales of electric heating pads and heaters increased by 2.7 times and 3.8 times respectively in the past week (October 4?10) compared to the previous week.

October and November mark the period when demand for winter products begins in earnest. Analyzing sales of representative heating appliances such as electric heating pads and heaters over the past three years (2020?2022), Lotte Hi-Mart found that sales in October and November accounted for 45% of annual sales. In particular, in October, before heating is fully started, there is increased demand for electric heating pads to warm the floor. Over the past three years, the share of October sales for electric heating pads was 30%, the highest throughout the year.

Lotte Hi-Mart is holding a discount event on heating appliances such as electric heating pads and heaters throughout October to coincide with the start of winter product demand. Event products including Shinil Electronics electric heaters, Cuckoo Electronics carbon heaters, and Gukil Allergy Care electric heating pads are being sold at up to 10% off.

Considering the growing demand for carbon mats in the heating mat market, a simultaneous purchase event for carbon mats is also being held. Customers who purchase event products such as Cuckoo Electronics’ carbon mat (queen size) and carbon heater together will receive up to a 30% discount. Carbon mats apply a new material, carbon fiber heating wires, offering superior durability, heat efficiency, and lightness compared to existing products.

Moon Chong, head of Lotte Hi-Mart’s Home Appliances Integration Division, said, "As more customers have been seeking heating appliances such as electric heating pads and heaters since October, we have prepared discount benefits centered on popular brands."
