On the 11th, the People Power Party harshly criticized the 'Daejang-dong false interview' allegations, comparing them to the 'March 15 fraudulent election' during the Rhee Syngman administration, calling it a "crime punishable by the severest penalty."

Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, said at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, "Election manipulation is a heinous crime that undermines liberal democracy and constitutes a grave national crime punishable by death," adding, "For this very reason, the main culprit of the March 15 fraudulent election was also sentenced to death."

The March 15 fraudulent election refers to the presidential election held on March 15, 1960, during President Rhee Syngman's administration, where fraudulent acts such as ghost voters manipulated by the ruling party, proxy voting for abstainers, and ballot box swapping were uncovered, sparking the April 19 Revolution. Choi In-gyu, former Minister of the Interior and Safety who directed the fraudulent election, was executed by hanging.

Regarding the interview between Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, the actual owner of Daejang-dong, and Shin Hak-rim, former chairman of the Korean Federation of Mediaworkers' Unions, which was reported just before last year's presidential election, Kim said, "This is not merely a matter of fake news but a meticulously planned propaganda news issue," adding, "A meticulously planned first-degree murder is a heinous crime punishable by the severest penalty, distinctly different from involuntary manslaughter."

Kim continued, "This presidential election manipulation case is a serious matter where manipulation, propaganda, and incitement were slyly carried out behind the scenes under the pretext of press freedom for personal power," and pointed out, "Press freedom exists to report the truth, not to allow the deliberate production and distribution of fake news."

Kim also emphasized, "It seems difficult for the pro-Moon Jae-in faction political prosecutors, who were heavily suspected of delayed investigation, lenient investigation, and cover-up regarding the Daejang-dong case during the previous administration, to escape responsibility as accomplices in the presidential election manipulation."

He then referred to former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil's post on his social network service (SNS) after posting the 'Kim Man-bae-Shin Hak-rim' Daejang-dong interview, which said, "The time to bring the truth to the square is approaching," and stressed, "As that post said, we must thoroughly uncover the mastermind behind this unprecedented presidential election manipulation and bring the truth to the square."

Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader, also said at the meeting, "It is becoming increasingly clear that the false interview is a presidential election manipulation and political propaganda," adding, "The SNS post by Representative Lee Jae-myung, who knew in advance about Newstapa's fake interview report, the unverified fact-checking concentrated attacks by pro-Democratic Party media, the simultaneous concentrated fire from pro-Lee political figures, and the complicity and tacit approval by the Moon Jae-in administration's prosecution, including the former Minister of Justice from the Democratic Party who knew everything, all point toward the conclusion that this case is an organized presidential election manipulation political propaganda."

He continued, "Heaven helped so that this political propaganda ultimately failed," and said, "Now, there is no power to cover up this tremendous crime, nor any place to hide. Those who destroyed democracy, planned, executed, and spread election manipulation must confess the truth to the people and cooperate with the investigation."
