KT Alpha announced on the 5th that the number of corporate members using Giftishow Biz, a bulk mobile coupon sending service exclusively for businesses, has surpassed 100,000. The number of domestic corporate businesses is approximately 1.1 million (based on 2022 National Tax Service data). This means that 1 out of every 11 companies uses Giftishow Biz.
Launched in 2017, Giftishow Biz is a B2B online service that allows corporate managers to send mobile coupons in bulk directly. Since the launch of Giftishow Biz, the domestic mobile coupon (e-coupon) market has grown at an average annual growth rate of 43%, exceeding 7.3 trillion KRW last year. Especially during the COVID-19 period, it grew rapidly, with cumulative membership increasing by 539% and transaction amounts by 820% compared to 2019. Giftishow Biz holds an overwhelming first place with over 40% market share in the B2B online service market.
Only a phone number is needed... Convenience is the biggest advantage
Corporate managers who have used Giftishow Biz cite the convenience of being able to deliver mobile coupons or surveys to customers without requiring them to install a separate app as the biggest advantage. In the past, physical products were shipped by managing address books, but now gifts can be easily and quickly sent via mobile with just the customer's phone number. Additionally, there is a growing trend to replace employee welfare gifts such as those for holidays and birthdays with mobile coupons. The proportion of coupons sent for employee welfare purposes through Giftishow Biz has more than doubled, increasing from about 10% in the first year of launch to about 25% last year.
Furthermore, KT Alpha explained that the following features are also popular: the ‘Open API,’ an interface that publicly shares the functions and information of the mobile coupon platform so anyone can develop; Kakao AlimTalk and SMS functions that provide an environment for quick and easy gift confirmation and use; and the industry’s first ‘survey’ feature that collects customer feedback. Introduced in May, the industry-first ‘validity period selectable coupon’ offers coupons usable for 60 or 90 days in addition to the existing 30 days, which is highly preferred.
New services announced... Promotions underway
Giftishow Biz plans to launch a ‘recipient-selectable coupon’ in the second half of this year targeting the employee welfare market, allowing recipients to choose their preferred product from multiple options. Additionally, the service and product range will be expanded to enable purchasing ‘corporate promotional items’ through Giftishow Biz.
To celebrate surpassing 100,000 Giftishow Biz customers, KT Alpha is holding a customer appreciation and Chuseok pre-reservation event. Customers who answer a quiz correctly will be entered into a draw to win prizes such as LG StanbyME, AirPods Pro 2nd generation, and Shinsegae gift certificates worth 100,000 KRW. Furthermore, customers who make pre-reservations will receive additional discounts, and those who complete purchases will be given Starbucks coffee coupons and Emart gift certificates 100%.
