Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 30th that it conducted an integrity campaign aimed at spreading a culture of integrity among newly appointed public officials in 2023.

The campaign was promoted as part of the ‘2023 Jeongeup City Anti-Corruption Integrity Improvement Measures’ to establish an anti-corruption integrity organizational culture.

Mayor Lee Hak-su, heads of departments and offices, and members of the Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team participated, distributing promotional materials on integrity and information on the corruption and public interest reporting system.

The promotional items featured the integrity slogan, “Let’s Build a Clean Jeongeup City Together,” to internally reinforce the commitment to integrity.

Previously, Jeongeup City launched the Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team to practice integrity aligned with citizens’ expectations, based on the comprehensive integrity evaluation results by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission from 2021 to 2022.

The team’s main core strategies include ▲creating an internal atmosphere of integrity within public service ▲actively seeking ways to improve external perception ▲strengthening employees’ sensitivity to integrity ▲spreading a culture of integrity based on trust and communication ▲and focusing on managing and improving vulnerable areas both internally and externally.

In particular, to publicize Mayor Lee Hak-su’s commitment to integrity both inside and outside the organization, the city plans to send integrity letters directly to civil petitioners, conduct code of conduct (prevention of power abuse) training for employees, and hold Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team meetings chaired by the mayor to inspect the integrity compliance of institutions.

Mayor Lee said, “Let us listen more carefully to the voices of citizens and communicate more to restore trust through administration that all citizens can empathize with,” adding, “I hope everyone practices integrity so that citizens can be confident that administration is always handled according to principles and procedures.”
