As the need for education among middle-aged people is gradually increasing due to rapid technological changes and extended retirement preparation, the city is implementing a project this year to support educational expenses for low-income middle-aged individuals for the first time. Additionally, after the project is carried out, the city plans to review ways to expand the support target through performance analysis.

Applications for participation and support funds for the Seoul Run 4050 Vocational Training Expense Support Project will be accepted online through the 50 Plus Foundation website from the 9th to the 18th. More detailed information can be found on the Seoul Metropolitan Government website, the Seoul Run 4050 Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal, and the 50 Plus Foundation website.

The announcement of selected recipients will be made on the 1st of next month via individual text messages, and will also be posted on the Seoul Run 4050 Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal and the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation website.

Gu Jong-won, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Lifelong Education Bureau, stated, “The goal of this project is to reduce the burden on middle-aged people in vocational transition and employment/startup education while improving the quality of education.” He added, “We will continue to support the 4050 generation in Seoul with vocational education, job support, and life planning assistance, cheering on their strong second act in life, and we will do our best to provide support for this.”
