HD Hyundai is launching the cultivation of the 'Second Abicus.'
On the 10th, HD Hyundai announced that it has finally selected five teams to participate in the in-house venture system 'Dream Cube (DREAM CUBE)'.
Dream Cube is a system that selects senior-level employees and teams (up to 4 people) with creative ideas and bold entrepreneurial spirit and supports their commercialization for one year. Applications were accepted from all affiliates starting in March, receiving a total of 239 business ideas.
The five selected teams will concretize business items such as metal 3D printing and electronic circuit design over the next year, launching prototypes and pilot services while testing business feasibility and potential.
The company plans to support each team with 150 million KRW in business funds, assist with expert mentoring, networking, consulting support, and provide independent workspaces to maximize autonomy.
At the HD Hyundai 50th Anniversary Vision Declaration Ceremony held at GRC in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province on December 26 last year, President Jeong Gi-seon emphasized the need for a new corporate culture, stating, "We will create a company where people want to work." [Photo by HD Hyundai]
Dream Cube means realizing dreams (DREAM) as if assembling a cube (CUBE). It embodies the company's commitment to help turn ideas that were only thought of but difficult to challenge into reality. This aligns with the project to 'create a company where employees can realize their dreams.'
Earlier, President Jeong Gi-seon said at the vision declaration ceremony held last December at the Global R&D Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, “A new corporate culture is necessary to realize a new vision,” adding, “We will actively strive to become a company where people truly want to work and where you can freely realize your dreams.”
Abicus, the first in-house venture specializing in autonomous ship navigation launched in December 2020, succeeded last June in the world's first Pacific crossing of a large vessel.
