Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 21st that it conducted the ‘119 Safety Call Service Activation Campaign’ in collaboration with Hwasun Fire Station and Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital to secure the golden time for emergency patients.
The campaign held the previous day targeted patients visiting Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital and their accompanying visitors, providing guidance on the 119 Safety Call and distributing promotional materials containing subscription instructions.
The 119 Safety Call Service is a service that registers one’s medical history and additional information with 119, enabling rapid emergency treatment and hospital transport by paramedics in case of an emergency.
Registration can be done online through the ‘119 Safety Report Center website’ or ‘Government24’. If online access is difficult, one can visit a nearby fire station with an ID (family relation certificate), and registration can be completed by the individual or a proxy.
Jeonnam Fire has been conducting 119 Safety Call registrations since 2007, with about 50,000 registered subscribers to date. The subscription rate is 2.7%, the highest nationwide, compared to the national city/province average of 1.2%.
Jung Gang-ok, Head of the Rescue and Emergency Department, said, “The 119 Safety Call is a reliable service prepared for the emergency situations of residents,” adding, “We will continue to maximize the efficiency of emergency medical services through the 119 Safety Call.”
