Securing Stake in Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Company EasyCharger
Investments by Solibis, EnerEver Battery Solution, and Amprius
Hyundai Industry, a specialized company in automotive interior materials, announced on the 21st that it has made an equity investment in Easy Charger, a company specializing in electric vehicle charging solutions. The investment is made through a direct acquisition of Easy Charger's shares. The investment amount is 500 million KRW.
Established in 2018, Easy Charger is an electric vehicle charger infrastructure company engaged in businesses such as ▲charging station operation ▲manufacturing of slow and fast chargers ▲construction and maintenance of charging stations.
A Hyundai Industry representative stated, "The electric vehicle charging infrastructure industry is rapidly growing alongside the expansion of the electric vehicle market," and added, "It is an industry with very high growth potential in the future." He further explained, "We decided to make this investment because we believe Easy Charger will be a future leader driving the domestic electric vehicle charging infrastructure market."
He emphasized, "Hyundai Industry is continuously striving to develop new business areas that can create synergy with the company," and "We have been consistently investing in the electric vehicle sector and plan to expand our investments going forward."
Since 2021, Hyundai Industry has been continuously investing in the electric vehicle sector, including ▲EnerEver Battery Solution, a company specializing in secondary battery separator coating ▲Amprius, a U.S. company developing silicon anode materials for secondary batteries ▲Solibis, a company specializing in solid electrolytes for all-solid-state batteries.
