On the 15th, Homeplus announced that it has partnered with the famous French winery 'Poncariou' to directly import and exclusively launch seven high-quality French wines. Among these, five received scores of 90 or above from the world-renowned wine critic James Suckling.
The red wines include 'Via Nostrum Saint-Chinian,' which leaves a rich finish with black fruit aromas and smoky pepper notes; 'Via Nostrum Corbi?res,' rich in black fruit, cocoa, and vanilla aromas with a clean finish; 'Via Nostrum Minervois,' offering a refreshing finish with a balance of intense red fruit aroma and moderate acidity; 'Ch?teau Rivi?re Minervois,' impressive for its harmony of black fruit aroma, spiciness, and wood aroma; and 'L'Antique Merlot,' featuring red fruit aroma with a dry flavor. The white and ros? wines include 'Salage Albari?o,' praised for its rich fruit aroma combined with honey and coconut scents, and 'Le Versant Grenache Ros?,' which completes a delicate aroma with sweet red fruit and floral notes.
The seven French direct-import wines are sold at prices ranging from 9,900 to 19,900 KRW. Through the My Homeplus application’s personalized service 'Juju Club,' customers can receive a 10% discount coupon when purchasing two or more bottles of French direct-import wine until June 28. To celebrate the exclusive launch, on June 20-21 and 27-28, a 50% discount coupon will be offered on all cheese products, a representative wine snack.
Last December, Homeplus also exclusively launched eight Spanish direct-import wines under the concept of a country-specific wine collection. These products received great customer interest, with major items selling out due to their excellent quality relative to price. In January, Homeplus exclusively launched three types of premium single malt whisky, 'Grangestone Single Malt Scotch Whisky,' produced in the Scottish Highlands, the birthplace of whisky. Currently, stocks are nearly sold out, and a second shipment is expected by the end of this month.
Meanwhile, at the end of this month, Homeplus will exclusively launch four canned RTD (Ready to Drink) highballs and three sours. This targets the 'mixology' trend among the MZ generation, who enjoy mixing alcohol and beverages. RTD sales surged by 231% from January to May compared to the same period last year, driven by increased outdoor activities after the endemic phase.
According to Homeplus customer purchase data, the alcohol purchase rate from January to May was 52%, meaning more than half of the customers visiting Homeplus had purchased alcoholic beverages. Homeplus views strengthening products with high customer purchase rates as a key factor in attracting customers and plans to continuously launch exclusive alcoholic beverage products.
