Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital recently announced on the 14th that the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross donated 40,000 KF94 masks.
The donated masks are enough for all staff, including the medical personnel at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, to use for about a month. The value of the donation is approximately 8 million KRW.
Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital plans to distribute the masks by department to prevent infections and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Heo Jeong, President of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, said, “The Red Cross will work together to protect the health of medical staff and the lives of patients.”
Son Obong, head of the Social Work Team at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, stated, “We have received essential supplies for the hospital,” and added, “We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities with the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross to promote a culture of sharing.”
Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital and the Korean Red Cross signed a social welfare support agreement in March to provide economic support and promote health and happiness for low-income vulnerable patients.
In particular, in April, ahead of the hospital’s 19th anniversary ceremony, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital donated 2 tons of rice (200 bags of 10 kg each) through the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross to help vulnerable groups in the community, spreading warmth throughout the local society.
