Professor Kim Hyun-soo of the Department of Automotive Engineering at Dong-Eui University and the Noise and Vibration Research Laboratory are participating in Hyundai Motor Group's 'Electrification System Joint Research Laboratory' project.
On May 23rd, Professor Kim Hyun-soo attended the inauguration ceremony of the Electrification System Joint Research Laboratory held by Hyundai Motor and Kia at the Jeju International Convention Center, where he received the joint research laboratory plaque.
The Electrification System Joint Research Laboratory is an industry-academia cooperation project in which Hyundai Motor Group collaborates with 15 research teams from 11 domestic universities to conduct research and development of next-generation technologies to secure competitiveness in electric vehicles.

The project is carried out by forming alliances in three divisions: the inverter group, the drive motor group, and the charging group, each conducting joint research tasks.
Professor Kim Hyun-soo will work in the drive motor group alongside research teams from Sungkyunkwan University, Chungnam National University, and Hanyang University to develop ultra-high-density motors and research new materials and cooling technologies for the development of ultra-compact, highest-efficiency drive systems.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to support the research funding and operation of the Electrification System Joint Research Laboratory through its affiliated industry-academia cooperation institution, Hyundai Eng.Vi, and will also promote exchanges among participating university research teams and link recruitment to outstanding researchers in the joint research laboratory.
Professor Kim Hyun-soo stated, “As the mobility paradigm shifts toward electrification, personnel in related fields are becoming increasingly important. I hope that the students and researchers participating in this project will gain new experiences and become talents leading the electrification era.”
