HD Hyundai invites 150 Seoul National University students to Pangyo for major-specific mentoring

From Meeting Alumni to the Selective Tour

HD Hyundai announced on the 29th that it operated a major-specific customized ‘Career Mentoring’ program for Seoul National University students, providing them with opportunities to explore career paths and share HD Hyundai’s vision.

Recently, HD Hyundai hosted about 150 students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center (hereafter ‘GRC’) in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province for the ‘Career Mentoring’ event. At the event, Jeong Gi-seon, President of HD Hyundai, and Lee Dong-wook, President of HD Hyundai Site Solutions and an alumnus, personally attended to introduce HD Hyundai’s vision and encourage students who are exploring career paths and preparing for employment.

Since its launch in January this year, HD Hyundai’s ‘Career Mentoring’ program has been held eight times, with alumni employees from the same major participating directly as mentors to provide mentoring based on employment and practical work experience.

A customized program was also created, including selecting special lecture topics and planning participation activities according to the students’ majors. As a result, the number of participants, which initially ranged from 10 to 20, gradually expanded, with about 150 participants attending this event. The eighth session was planned with a ‘selective tour’ schedule, allowing participants to actively engage according to their interests. University students chose to tour the Design Center, Future Technology Research Institute, Digital Ship Control Center, etc., within the GRC, or participated in VR experiences and recruitment counseling sessions.

HD Hyundai expects this program to help university students explore career paths and secure outstanding talent. The program will continue to expand until the end of the year, targeting students from various universities and majors. In his welcoming speech, Jeong Gi-seon, President of HD Hyundai, said, “I hope this event will be of practical help in identifying jobs that match your aptitudes and talents,” and added, “I hope today’s event will be an opportunity for you to envision a future together with HD Hyundai.”

Kim Dae-han, a university student who participated in the event, said, “It was great to hear directly from alumni not only about company work but also about know-how for company life,” and added, “I was able to understand HD Hyundai’s future vision centered on technology.”
