Research Alume analyzed on the 22nd that AlpiBio is expected to grow through overseas expansion.
Founded in 2016, AlpiBio is a company with various soft capsule manufacturing technologies. Soft capsules refer to capsules made of gelatin or similar materials filled with contents. When the liquid component gelatin is broken down, it can be rapidly absorbed in the body. By blocking light and air, it can be stored for a long time, making it used in over-the-counter drugs and health functional foods.
Researcher Woo Hwirang from Research Alume explained, "AlpiBio is the number one company in the domestic soft capsule market share," adding, "The market share increased from 51.5% in 2020 to about 60% last year."
He continued, "Through the original molding machine capable of minimum cross production, the product size was reduced by 80% compared to the existing size to improve ease of ingestion," and added, "Production speed was increased by 100 times and production yield was raised to 99%." Furthermore, he emphasized, "With NeoGel (a technology that uses gelatin to effectively encapsulate contents) having a shelf life of 36 months, customer preference has increased."
Researcher Woo stated, "Based on references that passed audits from global pharmaceutical companies, we plan to actively secure overseas companies as clients," and expressed expectations that "the export ratio will increase starting next year."
He also explained, "We have received technology transfer for manufacturing black ginseng extract, an individually recognized ingredient that can replace the red ginseng market, from the Rural Development Administration and the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology," adding, "It was recognized as the first individually approved ingredient for respiratory health in Korea, making it an attractive health functional food from the consumer's perspective."
It is estimated to achieve sales of 171.1 billion KRW and operating profit of 13.9 billion KRW this year, representing increases of 23.9% and 44.4%, respectively, compared to last year.
