Swedish electric vehicle brand Polestar announced its first-quarter results on the 11th (local time). It reported delivering 12,076 vehicles, a 26% increase compared to the same period last year.
This year, sales are expected to reach between 60,000 and 70,000 units. This forecast represents a 16-36% growth compared to last year's 51,491 units.
However, there was also some negative news. The production of the Polestar 3 has been postponed to the first quarter of next year. The reason is that additional time is needed for software development applied to the SPA2 electric vehicle platform shared with Volvo Cars.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, said, “We are taking measures to strengthen Polestar in the short term. Although Polestar 3 production will start in the first quarter of next year, the successful launch of Polestar 4 last month means we will offer two strong options in the electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) market next year,” adding, “Polestar is confident in its ambition for growth and high profitability.”
