Kraft Heinz announced the launch of Lea & Perrins (LEA&PERRINS, hereinafter ‘L&P’) Worcestershire Sauce.
Lea & Perrins’ ‘L&P Worcestershire Sauce (290mL)’ is a sauce widely used in the UK like soy sauce. It is made by long-term aging and fermenting anchovies and various natural spices, creating a diverse flavor profile. It is a sauce that delivers a unique umami taste different from oyster sauce, and just one spoonful can make a significant difference in cooking.
Certified by the British Royal Family, it is currently exported to over 130 countries worldwide and is used as an essential sauce in many restaurants. It can be used not only in Western dishes such as chop steak, stir-fried udon, and omurice, but also in Korean and Chinese cuisine.
Worcestershire Sauce, first developed by L&P in 1837, has maintained its reputation with L&P’s unique recipe and signature orange label. Even today, only the original four staff members know the Worcestershire Sauce recipe and aging method, and all recipes are encrypted with words starting with the letter B, manufacturing the product secretly.
A Kraft Heinz representative said, “Worcestershire Sauce was first produced by L&P in Worcester, England, and named after the city of its birth. The L&P manufacturing plant is also considered a must-visit spot for tourists. The newly launched L&P Worcestershire Sauce is made by directly aging the sauce in large barrels at L&P, the original maker of Worcestershire Sauce, so you can experience a distinct taste difference compared to Worcestershire sauces from other countries, such as American recipes.”
L&P Worcestershire Sauce is currently available for purchase on Coupang and the official Kraft Heinz online store.
