CU announced on the 7th that it will launch 'Seomin Makgeolli,' an affordable makgeolli priced at just 1,000 won.

Seomin Makgeolli is characterized by a less heavy taste and a clean finish. Despite being up to 70% cheaper than typical products from general manufacturers, it maintains a high rice content level, boasting excellent cost-effectiveness. The production cost was lowered by sourcing rice directly from the Korea Rice Processed Food Association and collaborating with small and medium-sized enterprises struggling to secure distribution channels.


CU will continue to release ultra cost-effective products. It will introduce Ice Cream 400 Bar (banana flavor) and two types of 1000 Corn (vanilla and chocolate flavors). Additionally, as the 23rd product in its private brand (PB) Deuktem series, CU will sell two types of cylindrical potato snacks, Potato Chips Deuktem (original and onion flavors).


A BGF Retail official stated, “To contribute to price stabilization, we planned products with enhanced price merits focusing on categories with rapidly increasing customer demand during the summer season. We will continue to present marketing that offers various benefits to customers and fulfill our role as a smart shopping assistant.”
