Gangnam-gu (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold the Gangnam Music Festival G-KPOP Concert at COEX East Plaza at 7 PM for three days from May 5 to 7.
Marking its third year, the G-KPOP Concert features 12 K-pop artist teams from entertainment agencies within the district. On May 5, Loco, Paul Kim, VERIVERY, and woo!ah! will perform. On May 6, Heize, Big Naughty, Weeekly, and Ghost9 will appear, and on May 7, SF9, Dreamcatcher, Kyungseo, and Woody will take the stage. The concert duration is 90 minutes.
For safety, the audience seating is divided into two zones, A and B, to prevent crowding at once, and the maximum capacity is limited to about 2,000 standing seats. Seats are standing-room only and available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 3 PM on the day of the event, with entry beginning at 5 PM. The performances will be live-streamed on the YouTube channels ‘Gangnam-gu’ and ‘1TheK.’
Additionally, the recorded broadcast will be available on SBS at 6 PM on May 19.
Besides the performances, various event activities are prepared. At each concert, artists will draw winning numbers on stage to give away Polaroid photos signed by the artists, T-shirts, CDs, and more. During this period, the COEX ‘Blossom The Hope’ event will be held simultaneously, offering various exhibitions and food trucks.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “As the center of K-pop, Gangnam-gu collaborates with the performing arts industry in the district to plan diverse concerts,” adding, “I hope many people create joyful memories at the concerts during May, the month of family.”
