Legoland Korea and Operator Merlin Engage in Chuncheon Regional Cooperation Activities

CEO Scott O'Neill and Event Inviting Families of People with Disabilities

Legoland Korea announced on the 13th that it conducted a social contribution activity inviting Scott O'Neil, the global CEO of Merlin Entertainment (Merlin), the operator of Legoland worldwide, and families with disabilities from Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province, to Legoland.

Scott O'Neil was newly appointed as Merlin's CEO in November last year. This is his first visit to Korea and Chuncheon. On this day, at Scott's request, Legoland Korea invited families with disabilities residing in Chuncheon through the Chuncheon City Disabled Welfare Center. Scott personally put wizard cloaks and hats on the children with disabilities visiting Legoland and greeted them in Korean.

Merlin has been conducting a global social contribution activity called the 'Merlin Magic Wand,' inviting socially marginalized groups to attractions like Legoland. Over the past 10 years, more than 800,000 children have been invited.

Legoland Korea has also been continuously holding events inviting socially marginalized children, single-parent families, and families with disabilities in Chuncheon City. Next week, in celebration of Disability Day, they plan to invite about 300 families with disabilities to the park from the 17th to the 20th in cooperation with the Chuncheon Disabled Family Support Center.

Scott said, "Korea is becoming a developed country in economy and culture with growing global influence, and Merlin is very interested in the Korean market," adding, "Legoland Korea will spare no support for regional coexistence so that it can become a pride of Gangwon Province and Chuncheon City."
