'LPGA Debut 7th Place' Yu Hae-ran Rises to World Ranking 46th

Yu Hae-ran (22), who entered the top 10 in her debut stage on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, has risen into the top 50 in the world rankings.

Yu Hae-ran ranked 46th with a rating of 1.93 points in the weekly women's golf world rankings announced on the 28th. This is a rise of 7 places from 53rd last week. Earlier, she finished tied for 7th with a total score of 16-under-par 272 at the LPGA Tour Drive On Championship (total prize money $1.75 million), held at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club (par 72, 6,526 yards) in Gold Canyon, Arizona, USA.

Yu Hae-ran, the 2020 Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour Rookie of the Year, won a total of 5 titles domestically before finishing first in the LPGA Qualifying Series last December, making her debut as an LPGA Tour rookie. She showed potential by rising to second place, just one stroke behind the leader after the third round, gaining recognition for her name.

Anna Lin (27), who recorded her first top 10 of the season with a 4th place finish in this tournament, also climbed 16 places to 49th in the world rankings. Among Korean players, Ko Jin-young (28), who is ranked 3rd in the world, maintained her position without change, narrowing the rating gap with 2nd place Nelly Korda (USA) from 0.69 points last week to 0.32 points. Meanwhile, Jeon In-ji (29) and Kim Hyo-joo (28) each dropped one place from the previous week, ranking 9th and 10th respectively.

Number one remained Lydia Ko (New Zealand), and Celine Boutier (France), the winner of this tournament, rose 6 places to 8th, entering the top 10 for the first time.
