Healing Experience with Psychiatrist's Lecture and Art Therapy
The Jeonnam Gangjin-gun Public Health Center Mental Health Welfare Center (Director Seo Hyun-mi) held the ‘4060 Middle-aged Emotional Healing Program’ on the 22nd for the middle-aged generation experiencing psychological stress and feelings of depression.
According to Gangjin-gun on the 24th, the program was designed to provide an opportunity for emotional stability by taking care of mental health during the unstable period when people in their 40s to 60s experience many physical and psychological changes, conflicts, and anxiety caused by the loss of social roles.
The program was conducted for 20 participants in their 40s to 60s through prior promotion and focused on improving mental health management skills such as overcoming psychological problems, relieving stress, and coping methods through various experiential activities including △a lecture by a psychiatrist on depression, anxiety, and stress △healing experiences through art therapy (such as self-portrait drawing) △Omnifit (brain wave, pulse wave) testing and result consultation △depression screening tests and counseling.
Last year, the Gangjin-gun Public Health Center also operated a mental health healing program for local residents struggling due to COVID-19, which received great responses.
Director Seo Hyun-mi said, “I hope this program will be a time for local residents to take care of and heal their body and mind,” and added, “We will continue to strive to develop various programs for the mental health of the residents.”
