Suncheon-gun, Jeonbuk Province, is increasing expectations for revitalizing the local economy by consecutively hosting various nationwide sports competitions.
According to the county on the 24th, starting with the recruitment of the Soft Tennis Dream Team in January, it has been attracting various national competitions and training camps such as the National Youth Soft Tennis Tournament and the Soft Tennis National Team Selection, becoming a mecca for soft tennis.
The 44th President's National Soft Tennis Tournament, hosted by the Korea Soft Tennis Association and sponsored by Suncheon-gun and Jeollabuk-do, will be held from the 25th to the 2nd of next month at the Public Stadium Indoor Multipurpose Court and Sunchang Jeil High School Soft Tennis Courts.
This tournament will be held in team and individual events (singles, doubles), with about 1,300 professional soft tennis players from elementary, middle, high school, university, and corporate teams nationwide participating in eight days of intense competition.
Held for the 11th consecutive year, the President's National Soft Tennis Tournament is one of the large-scale events contributing to the revitalization of Suncheon-gun's local economy. During the tournament period, significant sales are expected for local small businesses, including accommodations, restaurants, chicken shops, pizza shops, bakeries, and coffee shops throughout the county's towns and townships.
The county plans to do its best to support not only the safety management and convenience of the visiting teams and officials but also to promote the taste and charm of Suncheon so that visitors will return.
County Governor Choi Young-il said, "We thank the Korea Soft Tennis Association for choosing our county as the host of the national soft tennis tournament every year," adding, "We will spare no effort to provide active support to ensure nothing is lacking during the tournament."
Meanwhile, the county holds more than 10 soft tennis sports competitions annually, making every effort to promote sports and revitalize the local economy through sports marketing.
