[Featured Stock] Winix, Worst Chinese Yellow Dust Hits Korea... Air Purifiers Spotlighted↑

Winix is showing strong performance. It is interpreted that buying interest is pouring into Winix, a company that sells air purifiers, following news that the worst yellow dust originating from China is sweeping into South Korea.

As of 9:17 AM on the 23rd, Winix is trading at 11,930 KRW, up 4.01% compared to the previous day.

According to the Ministry of Environment, the yellow dust originating from the Gobi Desert and Inner Mongolian Plateau in China on the 21st, and from the Manchurian region on the 22nd, is expected to affect the West Coast region starting from Baengnyeongdo Island from this day onward.

The Ministry of Environment announced that, anticipating the inflow of yellow dust into the country, it has issued a yellow dust crisis alert at the ‘Interest’ level for the Incheon and Gyeonggi areas as of 5 PM the previous day. The ‘Interest’ level crisis alert is issued when the forecast predicts very bad fine dust (PM10) levels due to yellow dust (daily average PM10 exceeding 150㎍/㎥).

Meanwhile, Winix is a home appliance brand that manufactures and sells air purifiers, dehumidifiers, and dryers. It is interpreted that the stock price is being influenced by expectations that sales of Winix’s air purifiers will increase once the yellow dust season fully begins.
