On the 21st, the Population Policy Committee Reviews and Approves the Implementation Plan
Ulsan's population policy plan is being revised. The budget is increasing, and the focus is on developing the city into a place where all generations want to live in response to population outflow.
Ulsan City announced on the 21st that the "Ulsan City Comprehensive Population Policy Plan," established at the end of 2021, will be supplemented and revised to reflect the 8th term of the elected mayor's pledges and major projects.
On the 21st at 3:30 PM, Ulsan City will hold the "Population Policy Committee (Chairman Kim Du-gyeom)" in the main building's 2nd-floor city hall conference room to review and approve the "Revised Ulsan City Comprehensive Population Policy Plan (2022?2026)" and the "2023 Ulsan City Population Policy Implementation Plan."
The revised Ulsan City Comprehensive Population Policy Plan (2022?2026) adopts the vision of "Ulsan, a city where all generations are happy and want to live," and consists of four strategies: ▲ Strengthening the foundation for a future growth city ▲ Improving residential conditions ▲ Enhancing tailored support throughout life stages ▲ Proactively responding to population changes, with 14 strategic tasks and 100 detailed tasks.
The main revisions include adjusting the detailed implementation tasks from the original 79 to 100 (30 new tasks, 4 changed, 8 excluded, and 1 integrated).
The project budget over five years has increased by 921.8 billion KRW from the original 3.9041 trillion KRW to a total of 4.8259 trillion KRW.
The current Ulsan City Population Policy Implementation Plan includes a total of 99 detailed implementation tasks (with 1 task completed) and a budget of 785.3 billion KRW.
Key tasks include promoting future new industries to create quality jobs, strengthening a smart living environment through demand-centered housing support and transportation infrastructure improvements, and fostering a fun cultural city by building cultural and tourism resource infrastructure.
Additionally, the plan strengthens tailored support throughout life stages by creating a supportive childbirth environment, enhancing social responsibility for child care, reinforcing the foundation for youth life, supporting social activities for the new middle-aged generation, and providing stable social services.
It also aims to proactively respond to population changes by building a vibrant and healthy aging society and forming a citizen consensus on population measures.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "We are facing changes in population structure such as population decline due to low birth rates, aging, and population outflow, but we will focus on responding to population outflow in areas such as jobs, housing, and culture to revitalize the region."
The Ulsan City Comprehensive Population Policy Plan is established and implemented every five years based on the "Ulsan City Population Policy Basic Ordinance."
