Dongseo University Signs Agreement to Operate Work-Learning Parallel Advanced Industry Academy

Dongseo University and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea recently signed the ‘Work-Learning Dual System Advanced Industry Academy Operation Agreement’ to cultivate specialized personnel in future advanced fields.


At the agreement ceremony, more than 60 project stakeholders attended, including presidents and industry-academia cooperation directors from 12 universities nationwide selected as operating universities, as well as directors of the Work-Learning Support Bureau.


Dongseo University, the only institution in the Busan area selected for the Advanced Industry Academy, plans to establish a foundation for nurturing talent in future advanced fields by receiving up to 2.1 billion KRW in support, with 700 million KRW annually over the three-year project period.

Dongseo University Signs Agreement to Operate Work-Learning Parallel Advanced Industry Academy Officials from Dongseo University and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea are signing an agreement.

The ‘Advanced Industry Academy Project’ is a work-learning dual system training program based on NCS essential competency units, linked between companies and universities, aimed at resolving regional manpower supply and demand imbalances in fields such as information and communication technology and semiconductors, and cultivating talent in national technical occupations in advanced industries.


Dongseo University was selected as an operating university for the 4th term of the work-learning dual system and has trained 554 long-term field interns and 138 learning workers over five years from 2017 to 2022.


Additionally, recognizing the excellence of its IPP-type work-learning dual system project operation, Dongseo University will receive up to 2 billion KRW in project funding over five years from 2023 to 2027.


Dongseo University will also strive to build various forms of industry-academia cooperation infrastructure, such as customized pinpoint solutions tailored to corporate demand and leading company-specific consulting, to promote mutual growth with companies based in the region’s advanced and key industries.


Jung Do-woon, Director of the Work-Learning Dual System Joint Training Center, stated, “We will make greater efforts to create a win-win synergy effect between nurturing local talent in future advanced fields and companies through Dongseo University’s specialized education and NCS essential competency unit-based education.”
