Mayor Kim: “Please feel free to tell me anything if you have any inconveniences!”... Listening to the Voices of Communication and Sharing from Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, continues his communication efforts through “Vivid On-site Sketch! - Communication in Front of Schools” to hear the vivid voices from school sites.

“Communication in Front of Schools” is another channel of communication emphasized by Kim Kyung-ho, the 8th elected mayor of Gwangjin District, and is part of the “Alley Communication” initiative where he directly visits the living sites of residents to communicate with them.

This is a time for the mayor to meet students and parents on their way home in front of schools, listen to not only the need for a safe and pleasant educational environment but also various local issues, and consider improvement directions together.

“Vivid On-site Sketch! - Communication in Front of Schools” will be conducted from March 13 to April 12, starting with Jayang Elementary School and targeting 18 elementary schools in the area.

Last September, Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, held a “Communication Outing with Parents and Schools.” The second communication outing, “Communication in Front of Schools,” created to share more diverse communication, reflects the practical will to leap forward as a prestigious educational city by creating the optimal educational environment in the 8th elected term.

“Hello! Please feel free to tell me anytime if you have any inconveniences!”

“You can also tell me again. Please say anything!”

On the first day of “Communication in Front of Schools,” March 13, in front of Jayang Elementary School, Mayor Kim Kyung-ho greeted parents who came to pick up their children and waited for them to share what they wanted to say to the mayor.

“Due to the narrow school route, children suddenly run out or speeding cars make it dangerous. Please pay attention to creating a safe school route.”

“The play areas are very unsanitary because of pet waste. Please make a clean playground.”

“We will coordinate with related departments to install speed bumps, pave accident-prone sections, and mark one-way traffic on school routes to improve safety.”

Parents who hesitated at first also spoke up one by one, hoping for a better school environment. They all showed hopeful expressions at the mayor’s direct visit to the neighborhood, listening to their stories and promising to prepare solutions, despite the usual perception that the district office is hard to access and meet with.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin District stated, “We are striving to create conditions where education can be carried out without burden through sincere communication with parents,” and added, “We will cherish the vivid opinions and ideas from the field and do our best to improve the educational environment.”

Gwangjin District plans to actively communicate with school sites to provide students with a pleasant and happy educational environment, increasing the education expense budget by 1 billion KRW annually to secure 14 billion KRW by 2026.
