Employees of Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority participated in a blood donation event.
On the 13th, Pyeongtaek Port Authority announced that on the 10th, employees of the authority and tenant companies at the Marine Center participated in a life-sharing blood donation event held on a blood donation bus in the parking lot of Pyeongtaek Port Marine Center.
Pyeongtaek Port Authority signed a business agreement with the Korean Red Cross Gyeonggi Blood Center in July 2020 and has been regularly participating in blood donation campaigns since 2020.
Starting this year, Pyeongtaek Port Authority plans to regularize blood donation campaigns on the second Friday of each quarter to increase employee participation in blood donation activities.
Kim Seok-gu, President of Pyeongtaek Port Authority, emphasized, "Based on this year's annual social contribution activity plan, Pyeongtaek Port Authority plans to systematically promote social contribution activities for various groups within the local community as a public institution."
Meanwhile, Kim Yeon-sook, Director of the Korean Red Cross Gyeonggi Blood Center, expressed gratitude to Pyeongtaek Port Authority for regularly participating in blood donation campaigns as a public institution to overcome national disasters, especially amid social issues such as low birth rates and aging populations leading to a decrease in the eligible blood donor population and the urgent need for continuous blood donation participation.
