Damyang-gun Expands Supply of Eco-friendly Microorganisms to Resolve Odor Complaints

Supply Price Reduced from 300 KRW to 200 KRW per Liter Starting March

On the 10th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has decided through the Agricultural Industry-Academic Cooperation Council to reduce the supply price of eco-friendly microorganisms from 300 won per liter to 200 won starting in March.

The Eco-friendly Microorganism Center has been operating a cultivation system, including seven sterilized incubators, since March 2021.

The microorganisms supplied include a total of seven types (photosynthetic bacteria, Bacillus subtilis 2, lactic acid bacteria, yeast, Chlorella, BT bacteria), which crop farmers use to promote crop growth and control pests and diseases, while livestock farmers utilize them to enhance animal immunity and reduce odors.

Any local farmer can purchase the seven types of eco-friendly microorganisms at a price of 200 won per 1ℓ by completing a simple registration and application process (unmanned ordering system).

Additionally, odor-reducing microorganisms for livestock are supplied free of charge, and they have the effect of reducing ammonia (65%) and hydrogen sulfide (42%), which are odor-causing substances in livestock facilities, thereby helping hygienic livestock farming and resolving odor-related complaints from livestock farmers.

County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “We expect the price reduction of eco-friendly microorganisms and the free supply of odor-reducing microorganisms to expand eco-friendly agriculture and reduce farmers’ operating costs. We will do our best to ensure residents’ comfortable living environments, improve farm productivity, and increase stable income.”
