Conducted Over 3 Months Until June
The Central Fire Service Academy announced on the 9th that it will conduct a "Special CPR Training" for central government officials over a period of three months until June.
This training was prepared with the purpose of proactive administration to enhance the emergency response capabilities of central government officials following the Itaewon tragedy that occurred in October last year, enabling them to save precious lives through active emergency treatment in similar situations.
Until now, CPR training has mainly been conducted for the general public and local government officials at frontline fire stations, but this is the first time training is being provided specifically for central government officials. The training will target 711 public officials from eight ministries, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and will be conducted either by attending the Central Fire Service Academy or through on-site training visits to each institution.
The one-day course includes ▲ emergency response to large-scale disasters by situation, ▲practical CPR exercises and theoretical education, and to recreate vivid real-life scenarios, virtual reality (VR) simulation experiences in a virtual space will also be provided.
Jae-yoon Mae, head of the Central Fire Service Academy, said, “It is very meaningful to take the first step in CPR training for central government officials,” adding, “We will gradually expand the training to public officials who must do their best as servants of the people and strive to provide high-quality educational programs.”
