Gimhae City to Complete Sewage Pipeline Maintenance by 2026

213 Billion Won Budget Including 14.3 Billion Won National Funding

Gimhae City in Gyeongnam Province plans to complete the sewage pipeline maintenance project by 2026 to improve residents' living conditions.

On the 6th, the city announced that it completed the design for the sewage pipeline maintenance construction on the 2nd in areas including Udong Village, Seocheon Village, Ocheok Village, Sasan Village in Jinyeong-eup, Hwameok-dong 3 and 4 districts, and Seoseon Village and Naeseon Village in Juchon-myeon, and is currently undergoing administrative procedures such as construction technology review.

A city official explained that the Udong-ri area in Jinyeong-eup is a region with beautiful natural surroundings and is located at the uppermost part of the water source, making the preservation of clean water quality especially necessary.

The Hwameok-dong area is a settlement in the Gimhae Plain with 417 households and 726 residents, but it relies on individual septic tanks for sewage treatment, resulting in poor sanitary conditions and inconveniences in daily life.

The city plans to carry out a project to lay 22 km of sewage pipelines (D 200 mm to D 300 mm) to alleviate residents' inconveniences, reduce river water pollution, and improve a healthy living environment.

Since 2022, it has been investing a budget of 21.3 billion KRW, including local funds, with 14.9 billion KRW supported by national funds.

After completing the remaining administrative procedures such as construction technology review and funding consultations, construction will begin in August and is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
