Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, conducted a major cleanup on the morning of March 2nd by visiting sanitation-vulnerable areas in Ssangmun 4-dong and working alongside residents to promote a more community-centered and empathetic administration.
On this day, Mayor Oh, along with about 50 participants including Ssangmun 4-dong officials, neighborhood leaders, and local residents, focused on cleaning three main village areas in Ssangmun 4-dong where sanitation complaints frequently arise.
Afterwards, Mayor Oh visited the construction site of the Ssangmun-dong Multipurpose Sports Center to check on the progress and held a session to explain future plans to residents. He responded directly to residents’ opinions and questions on the spot and promised to expedite the project following delays in the completion date.
At the end of the schedule, Mayor Oh visited the Ssangmun 4-dong Community Service Center to encourage staff working on welfare services and COVID-19 frontline efforts. He also held a meeting with heads of local organizations to discuss major regional issues, sharing time for communication with local residents.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, “I thank the neighborhood leaders and residents who rolled up their sleeves from early morning to create a pleasant environment in Ssangmun 4-dong. Moving forward, we will continue to conduct village cleanups with residents, communicate on-site, and find solutions on-site to create policies that residents can truly feel.”
This visit to Ssangmun 4-dong marks the resumption of the “With the Mayor! Into the Field!” activities, which had been temporarily paused due to the severe cold during winter. Going forward, the mayor plans to continue open communication administration by visiting community service centers with postponed schedules to listen to complaints directly on-site.
