Gyeonggi-do Invests 8.8 Billion KRW to Create Safe Environments at 76 High Accident Sites Gyeonggi Province is carrying out a safety environment improvement project by selecting 76 areas with a high frequency of accidents across 31 cities and counties within the province. On the 2nd, Gyeonggi Province visited the Sunae 3-dong area in Seongnam City to conduct an on-site inspection of the 'Safety Environment Creation Project.' The Safety Environment Creation Project focuses on identifying and improving risk factors in daily life in advance.


This year, the province is investing 8.8 billion KRW to select 76 areas with a high frequency of accidents across 31 cities and counties to promote the Safety Environment Creation Project.


The inspection items include ▲replacement and installation of children's playground equipment ▲creation of safety facilities on school routes and in front of schools (yellow traffic lights, yellow carpets, etc.) ▲installation of automatic saline spray devices to prevent winter slip accidents ▲installation of anti-slip pavement on slopes ▲safety inspection of facilities ▲installation of protective fences ▲installation of safety logo lights, and more.


Yeon Je-chan, Director of the Provincial Safety Management Office, stated, "We will identify and improve risk factors in the living environment in advance to create a safer environment."


The province has been selected as the top-ranked region in the most categories at the provincial level for eight consecutive years in the regional safety index announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
