Seoul Institute Hosts Expert Forum on Introducing Building Greenhouse Gas Cap System

Third Event Held Following Last Year

The Seoul Institute announced on the 26th that it will hold the 3rd Expert Forum (Policy Discussion) on the topic of ‘Introduction Plan for Building Greenhouse Gas Cap System.’ Following the forums held in September and December last year, this third forum will be hosted by the Seoul Institute and organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, taking place on February 27th (Monday) from 2 PM at the main conference room of the Seosomun 2 Building in Seoul.

At the 1st Expert Forum held in September last year, there was a detailed explanation of the building greenhouse gas cap system and presentations on the introduction plan, along with gathering opinions from experts across various fields regarding the implementation of the system.

Subsequently, the 2nd Expert Forum held in December last year featured presentations and discussions by experts from various fields on energy performance building technologies that can be improved in the building sector.

At this third Building Greenhouse Gas Cap System Forum, the discussions so far will be synthesized, and through Q&A and discussions with expert committee members, detailed implementation plans for the building greenhouse gas cap system will be proposed.

The building greenhouse gas cap system is part of these pioneering policies, managing emissions from the building sector?which accounts for 68% of Seoul’s greenhouse gas emissions?by type to achieve Seoul’s carbon neutrality goals. We expect that through discussions among experts from various fields at this forum held ahead of the full-scale introduction of the system, diverse implementation directions that resonate more with citizens’ perspectives will be derived.”
