Yoon Appoints Park Jong-min, Chief Lawyer of Law Firm KCL, as Vice Chairman of Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 23rd, President Yoon Seok-yeol appointed lawyer Park Jong-min (59) as the Vice Chairman (Vice Minister level) of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, the Presidential Office announced in a press release.

Born in Seoul and a graduate of Seoul National University Law School, Park began his judicial career as a judge from the 20th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He is a seasoned legal professional who served as a judge at the Seoul High Court and as a judicial research judge at the Supreme Court.

He later worked as a lawyer at the law firm KCL and became the lead attorney in 2021.

During the last presidential election, he served as the head of the Rule of Law and Administrative Innovation Headquarters of the People Power Party’s Economic and Social Committee. After President Yoon’s election, he worked as an advisory member of the Social Welfare and Culture Subcommittee of the Presidential Transition Committee.

Park is the successor to former Secretary-General Ahn Seong-wook, who was appointed during the Moon Jae-in administration and recently resigned. As a result, among the senior officials of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission appointed by the previous Moon Jae-in government, only Chairperson Jeon Hyun-hee, whose term ends in June this year, remains.
