Homeplus Supports Children at Risk of Malnutrition with PB Milk Profits

Donation of Lunchboxes and 'Homeplus Signature 1A Milk'

Homeplus Supports Children at Risk of Malnutrition with PB Milk Profits

Homeplus announced on the 21st that it will allocate a portion of the sales revenue from its private brand (PB) milk to support meals for children at risk of food insecurity.

The products involved are two types: ‘Homeplus Signature 1A Milk’ and ‘Homeplus Signature 1A Low-fat High-calcium Milk.’ To inform customers purchasing these products about the support initiative for children at risk of food insecurity, donation messages have been incorporated into the product packaging design. Through the sales of PB milk, Homeplus plans to provide lunchboxes and milk to children facing food insecurity due to school meal suspensions during vacation periods and take the lead in ‘good consumption’ that benefits the local community.

The recipients of the lunchbox and milk donations are children and adolescents participating in Homeplus’s educational support program, ‘Baeum Tutoring.’ Homeplus intends to make comprehensive efforts to ensure that underprivileged children and adolescents can grow up in a stable and healthy environment by adding living support to educational assistance.

In fact, Homeplus has continuously supported children at risk of food insecurity. Since September last year, more than 500 employees have participated in the in-house ‘Tag Donation Campaign’ aimed at alleviating child food insecurity. In this campaign, when employees tap their ID cards on a terminal in the company cafeteria, donations are accumulated, and the company matches the amount donated by employees through a matching grant system. The accumulated donations were used from December last year for three months to support meals during the winter vacation for children and adolescents at risk of food insecurity participating in the ‘Baeum Tutoring’ program.

Cho Hyun-gu, head of the Homeplus Social Contribution Team, said, “Since last year, we have been carrying out support projects for children at risk of food insecurity who cannot have meals due to care gaps during vacation periods. We will continue to provide educational opportunities and living support so that children, who will be the future leaders, can grow up upright and healthy.”
