In particular, Yoon Hyung-geun, chairman of the Sacheon City Council, and Hwang Jae-eun, chief spokesperson of the Democratic Party Gyeongnam Provincial Party, will serve as co-chairs to lead the working committee. The secretary-general is the head of the Aerospace Division, and the secretary is the leader of the task force team for the establishment of the Aerospace Agency.

The committee members will play a key role in the launch of the Aerospace Agency over the next two years, as well as engage in discussions on current issues related to the creation of the aerospace cluster, collaborate on tasks, and jointly respond to new business opportunities.

The working committee will operate until February 2025 to foster the aerospace cluster through comprehensive consolidation of aerospace capabilities and will be automatically dissolved if there is no extension of the period.

Sacheon City is currently promoting the Satellite Manufacturing Innovation Center project in line with the establishment of the Aerospace Agency and the designation of the satellite-specialized zone within the space industry cluster.

The Satellite Manufacturing Innovation Center will serve as the central axis of the cluster, supporting space-related companies in research, manufacturing, and commercialization all in one place.

Mayor Park Dong-sik said, “I hope the Sacheon Aerospace Cluster Working Committee will become a focal point for consolidating Sacheon’s aerospace capabilities, and I look forward to its active activities in the future.”
