Submission of Petition Urging Ordinance Amendment for Advance Payment of Reconstruction Safety Inspection Costs

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Nowon-gu Reconstruction and Redevelopment Rapid Promotion Team (Head Oh Seung-rok) visited the Seoul Metropolitan Government and City Council at 2 p.m. on the 16th to deliver a petition signed by a total of 70,435 participants.


The district conducted a signature campaign from January 11 to February 10, urging the amendment of the Seoul Metropolitan City Urban and Residential Environment Maintenance Ordinance to allow the district to advance the payment of reconstruction safety inspection costs and recover them before the completion approval.


At the delivery ceremony, Reconstruction Project Manager Hwang Seon-ui attended on behalf of Oh Seung-rok, head of the Rapid Promotion Team and Nowon-gu Office. Representing 85 members of the Nowon-gu Reconstruction and Redevelopment Rapid Promotion Team were the reconstruction promotion representatives of Junggye Jugong Complex 5, Junggye Gyeongnam Lotte Sang-A Reconstruction Promotion Representative, the president and vice president of the Nowon-gu Barun Reconstruction and Redevelopment Association, and Seoul City Council member Seo Jun-oh.


The delegation met sequentially with the Director of the Seoul Housing Policy Office and the Policy Support Officer of the Seoul City Council to convey the aspirations of 70,000 residents hoping for a pleasant residential environment.


Reconstruction Project Manager Hwang Seon-ui, attending on behalf of Oh Seung-rok, said, “We have successfully delivered the petition, which contains the strong interest of residents yearning for a pleasant living environment, to the Seoul Metropolitan Government and City Council. We express our gratitude to the residents who participated in the signature campaign and hope that the Seoul Metropolitan Government and City Council will recognize the sincere desire of citizens for the rapid promotion of reconstruction.”
