Celltrion Group Donates 400 Million KRW to Korean Red Cross
Ildong Pharmaceutical Employees Voluntarily Contribute 10 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Myung-hwan Lee] The domestic pharmaceutical and bio industry has consecutively donated funds to support the T?rkiye and Syria regions, which suffered massive damage from an unprecedented earthquake.
Celltrion Group announced on the 14th that it will provide 400 million KRW in recovery donations to help local residents struggling due to the earthquake damage in the T?rkiye and Syria regions.
Of the total 400 million KRW donation, 300 million KRW will be delivered by Celltrion and Celltrion Healthcare to the Incheon branch of the Korean Red Cross. The remaining 100 million KRW will be delivered by Celltrion Pharm to the Chungbuk branch of the Korean Red Cross to be used for relief and recovery activities for local residents in T?rkiye and Syria.
A representative of Celltrion Group said, "We made this donation hoping to offer some support to the residents of the T?rkiye-Syria region who are suffering from the large-scale earthquake damage. Along with Celltrion Group and other domestic and international companies, as well as various assistance and interest from the international community, we hope the damage will be quickly restored so that local residents can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Ildong Pharmaceutical employees voluntarily participated in the donation. On the same day, Ildong Pharmaceutical Group announced that its employees donated 10 million KRW in relief funds to UNICEF, a UN agency, for the victims of the earthquake in T?rkiye and Syria.
Ildong Pharmaceutical Group has been continuing its in-house social contribution program called 'Salary Rounding Savings and Sharing Activities.' Under voluntary participation by employees, a portion of their salaries is deducted to form a fund, which is then used collectively for donations and sponsorships.
The donation will be used for recovery and relief efforts for the earthquake-affected areas and victims in T?rkiye and Syria through the Korea Committee for UNICEF.
An employee participating in the Salary Rounding Savings and Sharing Activities at Ildong Pharmaceutical Group said, "I hope this can be of some help to the residents in the affected areas to overcome the disaster and stand up again. We plan to continue paying steady attention and participation in extending help to places in need."
