The advisory group consists of 27 members including representatives from national and public institutions, university professors, architects, and construction experts.

The main role of the advisory group is to provide consulting services at each stage such as planning and design for wooden architecture projects promoted by public building managers.

The advisory targets include national institutions, local governments, public institutions, and local public enterprises. The applicable buildings are those with a total floor area of 100㎡ or more that apply wood to the main structural parts of the building.

If consultation is desired in the planning and design fields such as establishing basic plans for new construction, extension, or repair of public sector buildings, an application form can be submitted to the Korea Forest Service’s Wood Industry Division to receive advisory services.

Nam Sung-hyun, Administrator of the Korea Forest Service, said, “We will expand policies in the wooden architecture sector to spread the awareness that the use of wood is equivalent to ‘carbon neutrality’ and to activate the use of domestic wood.”
