Held a Meeting with the Changwon, Masan, and Jinhae Branches of the Private Taxi Association
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a meeting on the 9th at 2 PM in the reception room to listen to the difficulties of the taxi industry with the Changwon Branch, Masan Branch, Jinhae Branch of the Private Taxi Association and related parties.
On this day, the heads of the private taxi branches requested an additional expansion of the number of voucher taxis operated for transportation-vulnerable groups. Since July last year, the city has been operating voucher taxis to guarantee the mobility rights of transportation-vulnerable groups and to alleviate inconveniences. Expanding the number of operating vehicles will reduce the waiting time for transportation-vulnerable groups, thereby promoting transportation convenience and contributing to improving the treatment of transportation workers by providing incentives to taxi drivers.
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a meeting with the Changwon Branch, Masan Branch, Jinhae Branch of the Private Taxi Association and related parties to listen to the difficulties faced by the taxi industry.
They also requested expanded operational support following the second integration of the brand taxi Changwon Integrated Call Center. The first integration of three companies (Changwon Call, Gagopa Call, Woori Call) was completed in October last year, and the second integration of the remaining two companies (Young Call, Jinhae Brand Call) was completed in February this year and is currently in operation. After the integration, they requested operational expense support due to the expansion of operational personnel following employment succession.
The Changwon Integrated Call Center consolidates the telephone call centers that were previously operated separately by five existing brand call taxi companies into one center and introduced the taxi-hailing app ‘T-money onda’. By integrating the existing telephone calls with mobile calls for dispatch, citizens enjoy convenience, and taxi drivers benefit from reduced call fees, creating a win-win service foundation. Currently, 3,029 taxis, accounting for 60% of taxis in the jurisdiction, are registered and operating.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I appreciate the hard work of taxi transportation workers who serve as the feet of citizens despite difficult conditions,” and added, “We will thoroughly review the matters proposed today and strive to establish transportation conditions where both the taxi industry and citizens can coexist.”
