Hankyoreh Newspaper announced on the 8th that Choi Woo-sung (56), head of the Media Strategy Office, has been selected as the next CEO candidate.

He will officially assume the position of the 19th CEO of Hankyoreh Newspaper after the shareholders' meeting to be held on the 25th. The term of office is 3 years.

Choi, the next CEO, graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Economics and completed graduate studies at the same university. He also attended the doctoral program in Economics at the University of Bremen in Germany. He joined Hankyoreh in 2006 and has served as head of the Finance Team in the Economic Department, editor-in-chief of Hankyoreh21, and head of the Economic and Industrial Department.
