Revitalizing Cultural Centers through Sharing of Arts and Culture
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Cultural Facilities Office of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, secured about 50 million KRW after being selected for the 2023 National and Public Arts Organizations Excellent Program Contest, part of the Bangbanggokgok Culture Sympathy Project organized by the Korea Culture and Arts Centers Association.
The Bangbanggokgok Culture Sympathy Project by the Korea Culture and Arts Centers Association is a program aimed at revitalizing cultural centers by sharing high-quality culture and arts throughout the country, improving the cultural level of each citizen, and bridging cultural gaps.
The work selected this time by Hamyang-gun is the family musical Manbokine Tteokjip, based on one of the Manbokine Tteokjip series books by author Kim Riri, which cleverly and imaginatively depicts children's daily lives. It is a production based on a must-read book that has been consistently loved by children.
Kim Jong-nam, in charge of performing arts, said, “The family musical Manbokine Tteokjip will be a great opportunity to meet the protagonist from the book on stage. It will be a performance that sparks children's curiosity and fills adults with childlike wonder, and it will be available in the first half of the year.”
In 2022, Hamyang-gun also achieved great success with eight programs selected for the Bangbanggokgok Culture Sympathy Project, including excellent performances by national and public arts organizations, excellent performances by private arts organizations, and joint production and distribution projects for performance content.
