[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, will significantly expand the distribution of beneficial agricultural microorganisms starting this year.
According to the county on the 8th, beneficial agricultural microorganisms, which are also effective in reducing pests and livestock odor, help create a soil environment suitable for crop growth.

They not only lay the foundation for producing high-quality agricultural products but also drastically reduce farming costs during eco-friendly cultivation, leading to increasing demand every year.
Since establishing its own Agricultural Beneficial Microorganism Cultivation Center in 2017, the county has steadily increased the supply volume.
Starting with 131 tons in the first year, 195 tons were supplied to farms last year. The center produces four main types of microorganisms: Bacillus subtilis, lactic acid bacteria, yeast, and photosynthetic bacteria, which are provided free of charge to farmers in the Jangseong area.
From this year, the maximum supply per instance will increase by 50%, from the previous 20ℓ to 30ℓ.
Previously, livestock farmers could receive up to 50 heads based on 0.4ℓ per head, and crop farmers could receive up to 20ℓ for 4 greenhouses based on 5ℓ per 10 ares, but starting this year, the limit is expanded to 30ℓ.
Eco-friendly farmers can receive as much as needed according to their cultivation area.
The microorganism supply days have also increased from once a week to twice a week. Until now, microorganisms were supplied only on Wednesdays, but starting this year, they will be provided twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays to accommodate busy local farmers.
A county official said, “We will continuously promote through demonstration plots where the effects of beneficial agricultural microorganisms can be visually confirmed, and strengthen education centered on key farms.”
