[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 7th that it will reduce water and sewage fees by 30% for vulnerable groups experiencing difficulties this year.
The reduction targets include basic livelihood security recipients (living, medical benefits), national veterans, severely disabled persons, and multi-child families with three or more children under the age of 19.
To apply for the reduction, consumers must visit their respective eup/myeon offices or the county water and sewage department in person and submit the application form.
To improve situations where eligible individuals fail to apply and to expand the reduction targets, announcements will be posted in eup/myeon village chief newsletters and promoted through apartment bulletin boards.
The county plans not only to reduce fees but also to update the list of eligible recipients by verifying deaths, relocations, disqualifications, and whether the current status should be maintained for those currently receiving reductions.
Meanwhile, with the winter season approaching, the county is promoting water meter freeze prevention messages on the back of water and sewage fee bills and has purchased and distributed 1,000 insulation covers to prevent water meter freezing in Imsil-gun, where temperatures are lower compared to other regions.
