[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] On the 4th, Seoul City announced that it suspended the operation of the skating rink from 4 p.m. due to a clash between the bereaved families and the police at Seoul Plaza during the 100-day memorial ceremony for the Itaewon tragedy.

The bereaved families and citizens marched to Sejong-daero, the site of the memorial rally, in the afternoon and unexpectedly set up a memorial altar tent at Seoul Plaza, leading to confrontation and clashes with the police.

Accordingly, the city suspended operations from the 5th session to ensure the safety of citizens using the skating rink. Online reservations were all canceled, and the minimum amount will be refunded within 2 to 3 days.

The city will monitor the protest situation at Seoul Plaza and decide whether to resume skating rink operations on the 5th. This will be announced on the website and on-site.
