Hamyang-gun Collects Resident Opinions on the Construction of the 'Nui Center'

County Residents Survey, February 13 Resident Briefing Session Held

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will conduct a survey and hold a residents' briefing session to derive the basic planning direction for the 'Nui Center,' which is scheduled to be built as part of the local extinction response fund project.

The 'Hamyang Nui Center' was selected in 2022 as a government investment project under the 'Local Extinction Response Fund' to overcome the local extinction crisis. It plans to build and operate a complex community center that integrates education, culture, and welfare services.

To promote the project, on January 17, a free discussion on the concept of introduced facilities and program operation plans was held at the county office's large conference room with 35 participants including youth, parents, education, and employment officials to gather diverse opinions.

The survey will be conducted online through the county office website until the 16th, and questionnaires will be placed at public facilities frequently used by many people such as the National Sports Center, Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and town and township offices to allow any resident to participate.

The survey consists of a total of 10 items: five basic questions asking about gender and age group, and five questions regarding the facilities to be introduced at the Nui Center. The results will be used as valuable data for establishing the basic plan for the Nui Center.

Additionally, to directly hear and communicate with residents from various social strata, a residents' briefing session related to the 'Hamyang Nui (Anyone Can Use) Center Construction Project' will be held at 2 p.m. on the 13th in the county office's large conference room.

At the briefing session, county officials will explain the project details and future plans related to the Nui Center and listen to residents' opinions through Q&A. Any interested resident can participate.

County Governor Jin Byeong-young said, "The Nui Center will be a facility that anyone can easily visit, anyone can participate in together, and that the local community truly needs." He added, "We will do our best to listen to the diverse opinions of residents to improve the quality of Hamyang's lacking cultural and welfare services."
