[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kang Seong-cheon was inaugurated as the president of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency on the 26th.

The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency announced that on the same day, Kang Seong-cheon held an inauguration ceremony at Gwanggyo Hall on the first floor of the agency building in Yeongtong, Gwanggyo Technovalley, Suwon, officially beginning his term.

President Kang graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Economics and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in Economics from Indiana University Graduate School in the U.S. He has served in public office for 33 years, including positions such as Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Industrial Policy Secretary at the Presidential Secretariat, and Director of Industrial Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Recently, he served as chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Government Advisory Committee and as a special professor at Korea University's Future Growth Research Institute.

At the inauguration ceremony, President Kang pledged, "The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will consolidate its support capabilities to operate a company-wide export support system and actively work to build a dynamic regional ecosystem for future growth engines such as semiconductors, biohealth, and advanced mobility. We will also focus on improving productivity through the digital transformation of local SMEs and startups."

After the inauguration ceremony, President Kang held a communication meeting with the labor union and immediately visited the Startup Incubation Center to meet with resident companies, listen to their voices from the field, and exchange opinions.
