Three Experts in Urban Planning and Architecture Appointed on the 20th
Moon Heon-il, District Mayor, “Will Devote Full Effort to Promoting Reconstruction and Redevelopment Projects”
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The redevelopment and reconstruction project support team composed of experts in Guro-gu is set to begin full-scale activities.
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that on the 20th, it held an appointment ceremony for the redevelopment and reconstruction project support team at the Renaissance Hall of the district office and presented appointment letters to three experts in respective fields.
The support team consists of experts with extensive knowledge and experience in related fields such as urban planning and architecture. Their term is two years, until 2025.
They will independently provide consultation and advisory services related to Guro-gu’s redevelopment and reconstruction projects, proposing project directions through information provision such as current status of the districts. They will also analyze factors causing project stagnation and offer advice and consultation on forming and establishing residents’ general meetings and promotion committees, as well as resolving conflicts among residents during the project process.
Promoting reconstruction and redevelopment projects is one of District Mayor Moon Heon-il’s key pledges, and the district expects that the formation of this support team will accelerate these projects.
For effective operation, the support team plans to hold weekly meetings to share work progress and, if necessary, convene operation councils with civil complaint-related departments to seek solutions.
District Mayor Moon Heon-il said, “I hope the support team will play a leading role while communicating with residents,” and added, “We will devote all our efforts to swiftly advancing the reconstruction and redevelopment projects, which are the most important issues for Guro-gu in the 8th local government administration.”

Jungnang-gu Improves Residential Environment and Community Vitalization through Apartment Support Projects
Applications by Visit or Mail Accepted until the 28th for 159 Apartment Complexes with 30 or More Households in the Area
Up to 40 Million KRW Support for Two Areas: Maintenance of Common Facilities and Community Vitalization
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is conducting the ‘2023 Apartment Support Project’ worth 700 million KRW targeting 159 apartment complexes in the area.
The apartment support project is designed to create a pleasant and safe residential environment and activate community activities by partially supporting maintenance and improvement costs of common facilities.
Eligible applicants are apartment complexes with 30 or more households, and they can apply for only one of the two project areas: maintenance of common facilities or community vitalization. However, among the community vitalization projects, the following four areas can be applied for concurrently with the maintenance of common facilities: projects selected through community vitalization contests, resident-participatory volunteer activities and childcare program operations, development and operation of community vitalization programs, and projects to resolve conflicts among apartment complexes.
If selected, support will be provided for 50% to 90% of the project cost, up to a maximum of 40 million KRW.
Apartment complexes wishing to apply must obtain approval from the residents’ representative meeting and submit the application form and project plan documents to the Housing Management Division of Jungnang-gu Office by visit or mail by February 28. The support projects and amounts will be decided through the Apartment Support Review Committee in March.
District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “I hope the apartment support project will not only improve the residential environment and residents’ quality of life but also serve as an opportunity for residents to communicate and harmonize.”
Last year, a total of 53 projects such as repairs of children’s playgrounds and senior centers and replacement of old elevators were selected and implemented, receiving great responses as they brought tangible improvements to the residential environment.
