GC Green Cross Wellbeing launches 'Gujeolcho Gold for Joint Cartilage'

[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] GCNokshipja Wellbeing announced on the 18th that it has launched a new pharmacy product, ‘Gwanjeol Yeongolen Gujeolcho Gold,’ a joint care health functional food under the ‘Gwanjeol Yeongolen Gujeolcho’ brand. A company representative explained, "As the joint health functional food market grows, we have expanded our sales channels to meet the demand from consumers seeking joint health products at pharmacies."

Starting this month, Gwanjeol Yeongolen Gujeolcho Gold is being distributed and sold nationwide at pharmacies. Compared to the existing product, it has been enhanced with added vitamin D, zinc, and selenium to comprehensively support not only joints and cartilage but also bones, immunity, and antioxidant functions. It also contains secondary ingredients such as chondroitin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid.

Launched by GC Nokshipja Wellbeing in April last year, Gwanjeol Yeongolen Gujeolcho is the first health functional food in Korea to utilize Gujeolcho extract. Gujeolcho extract is an ingredient that helps joint and cartilage health and has been certified as an individually recognized raw material by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Containing the key marker compound ‘Linarin,’ and using a new technology that concentrates Gujeolcho raw material by 2500%, a human application test on Koreans confirmed a 21% reduction in pain after 6 weeks of intake. Notably, in a market dominated by imported raw materials for joint care health functional foods, this product uses 100% domestically sourced plant-based ingredients and has received New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
