Sancheong County announced on the 26th that it held the ‘2022 Second Half Retirement Ceremony’ at the county governor’s office.

The retirement ceremony was attended by County Governor Lee Seung-hwa, former Planning and Coordination Office Director Kim Myung-moon, Anti-Aging Tourism Bureau Director Lee Chang-gyu, former Agricultural Technology Center Director Choi Kyung-sul, former Chahwang-myeon Chief Kim Kwon-sik, and other retirees and public officials.

These retiring public officials devoted themselves to their duties for over 30 years, contributing to the welfare of the residents and the development of county administration.

Former Planning and Coordination Office Director Kim received a Presidential Citation as an excellent government official in the second half of 2020.

He also established the 2030 Sancheong Vision Mid- to Long-Term Comprehensive Development Plan, presenting the future development direction of the county.

While serving as the Economic Strategy Division Chief, he worked to improve residents’ quality of life by attracting the Saetteul Village Project, a rural vulnerable area improvement project, and by promoting the early supply of city gas.

Former Tourism Bureau Director Lee successfully led the 22nd Sancheong Herbal Medicine Festival and played a major role in having the Sancheong Herbal Medicine Industry Special Zone selected as an excellent special zone for two consecutive years.

While serving as Safety and Construction Division Chief, he devoted himself to residents’ safety and resolving inconveniences by promoting disaster prevention projects and small stream maintenance projects ahead of schedule.

He especially always led by example and practiced field administration that met the residents’ perspectives.

Former Agricultural Technology Center Director Choi focused on nurturing future rural talents by training young farmers and premium strawberry experts.

He achieved a milestone in 2020 by conducting a pilot export of sericulture products to the United States and was recognized as a model senior official by junior staff in 2017, serving as a role model for his juniors.

Former Chahwang-myeon Chief Kim always managed the township administration with a humble attitude from the residents’ standpoint.

He devoted efforts to annual road openings to attract population inflow to the region and to establishing infrastructure for complex farming.

While working in the Agriculture and Livestock Division, he contributed to infrastructure development and increasing farm income by securing national road rainwater drainage.

Governor Lee said, “There is much know-how that juniors should learn from the retirees, so it is with a heavy heart that we see them leave,” and added, “I hope they will continue to show great interest and affection for Sancheong County Office even after retirement.”
