108 Votes Out of 180 Voters, Reelected Following the First Term of Minseon
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Myung Kyung-sik has been elected as the president of the Yeosu City Sports Council for the second term of direct election.
According to Yeosu City, in the election held on the afternoon of the 22nd at Jinnam Indoor Gymnasium, candidate Myung Kyung-sik was elected with the support of 108 out of 180 voters.
This election was conducted by entrusting the Yeosu City Election Commission, and out of a total of 190 electors, 180 voted on the day, recording a turnout rate of 94.7%.
As a result of the vote, Myung Kyung-sik, who received 108 votes, defeated candidate Lee Jeong-ho, who received 72 votes, by a margin of 36 votes, successfully securing re-election following the first term.
The term of office for the second term president of the Yeosu City Sports Council will be from February 15, 2023, until the day before the 2027 regular general meeting, leading the Yeosu City Sports Council for four years.
President-elect Myung Kyung-sik said, "I believe I was re-elected in recognition of the achievements in operating the Sports Council during the first term of direct election," and added, "Based on the know-how gained over the three years of the first term, I will do my utmost for the unity and development of sports in the Yeosu City Sports Council," sharing his acceptance remarks.
Meanwhile, President Myung Kyung-sik has been evaluated positively for successfully hosting major sports events, including the ‘24th Yeosu Citizens Sports Festival’ held this year for the first time in three years due to COVID-19.
